Who we are

Re-Bound, is a dynamic new company which was born out of the necessity to recycle tyres, one of the most difficult products to recycle, therefore, improving the environment for us all. Re-Bound Products Ltd, is now one of the largest producer in the United Kingdom, of Coloured Rubber Chippings for use as either a replacement for wood mulch, or as a safety play surface.

 

Looking to the future, we will continue to expand the products we offer, focussing on taking waste materials and manufacturing, new, exciting products. With its tremendous benefits of Re-Bound Rubber Chippings make it a far superior alternative to organic mulches and other ground cover products such as slate and gravels. Easy to lay, soft underfoot and to touch, means you have more time to love your garden rather than just working in it! Lasting at least ten times longer than wood bark, you'll find the benefits are outstanding too!

WHAT IS IT?

Developed in the UK using 100% recycled car tyres, our innovative ground cover from Re-Bound Rubber Chippings lasts for years, avoiding the cost and trouble of annual replacement - and adds fade resistant colour to your garden all year round whilst being highly effective at weed control! What's more, each of our colour coatings are water based - which means they are truly 100% safe for all!

HOW TO LAY IT

If used as a mulch Re-Bound Rubber Chippings is up to five times heavier than other mulches, which means you will need less product.

For best results, treat the ground with a pre-emergent to kill any existing weed (following the manufacturers guidelines) and then apply a landscaping fabric to the area. Apply Re-Bound Rubber Chippings directly on top of the fabric to a depth of approximately 4cm. As a guide, we recommend one ten kilo bag will cover an area of up to 0.75 of a square metre.

FAQ's

Will it affect my plants?

Re-Bound Rubber Chippings lets most of the rain to get through to the soil, this is excellent for your plants as more moisture and nutrients will get to the root sysyem, unlike organic wood mulch which could absorb a lot of moisture, this would stop water and nutrients getting through to your plants roots.

 

Does Re-Bound Rubber Chippings keep weeds down?

Yes, Re-Bound Rubber Chippings although it does not kill weeds, as it is hydrophobic and dries quickly, and airborne seeds falling on to the rubber would not be able to germinate.

 

Are Re-Bound Rubber Chippings expensive?

Not really, though not as cheap as wood mulch, the benefit is in the long term, where there are great savings, as the rubber chippings will last well over ten years. You will save considerably as there will be no need for annual replacement, as you would need to do with wood bark.

 

How much do I need?

We recommend that you lay the Re-Bound Rubber Chippings to a minimum depth of 4cm (1.5”) depth. 

 

Are there any ill effects should my child or pet swallows some Re-Bound Rubber Chippings?

As Re-Bound Rubber Chippings are inert and completely non-toxic, if consumed will pass safely through your childs or pets digestive system.

 

Should I put down a membrane before applying ReBound Rubber Chippings?

A membrane over time will build up a thin layer of soil on top of it, and this would create the perfect growing conditions for weeds. As long as you have weeded the area prior to laying the rubber chippings, and treated it with a good quality pre-emergent weed killer, then you should look forward to many years of weed free, low maintenance, gardening.

Re-Bound Products Ltd: Delivery Information, Terms and Conditions

Delivery Information

All our orders will dispatched within 3-5 working days. Please be aware, that as the product is delivered on pallets, that only a kerbside delivery can be guaranteed. However, normally, this will be delivered on to your drive way if possible, we also ask that our deliveries are booked in with you, so that the order doesn't arrive unexpectedly. As the product is delivered on a pallet, taken from the back of a tail lift vehicle, the delivery will be moved using a pallet truck, a small hand pump jack, which can only operative on a flat level surface. Therefore, this will not work on gravel, grass or any loose surface. Please contact us before ordering if you have any issues over delivery.
